The prescribed contact time for MICROSHIELD® Antiseptic Hand Rub Solution (MARS) is 90 seconds, and during this 90 seconds, the hands and forearms must remain wet for the antiseptic rub to achieve appropriate efficacy (bacterial load reduction of both transient and resident flora) required for a surgical hand antisepsis.
This course consist of a video and short test at the end and takes about 15 minutes to complete. You may also wish to take the course '(ANZ) Surgical Hand Antisepsis' that covers in more detail hand hygiene and surgical hand antisepsis.
