This online course, written by Thomas OH, Ph.D, from Medical & Scientific Affairs at Schülke & Mayr, gives an overview of effective environmental cleaning in healthcare settings in relation to risks posed by coronavirus
COVID-19 is caused by a novel coronavirus. Viruses are known to survive on surfaces for an extended period of time and, based on our knowledge of influenza, can be transmitted via contact with contaminated surfaces. So good knowledge of effective surface cleaning and disinfection in the healthcare environment is important.
This course can be accessed at work or at home on a variety of smart devices.
On completion of this course trainees will:
Gain an understanding of COVID-19, including how it is transmitted and its classification.
Understand how to disinfect surfaces to help prevent the transmission of the virus.
Be aware of which types of cleaning and disinfection products are effective against the virus.
Learn about the importance of the different EN tests relevant to surface disinfection and what to look for.
Add members of your team to your course to track their progress. This course contains topics that cover:
The course is accompanied by a multiple choice test to assess the trainee’s understanding of the content. When all module tests are completed the trainee will have access to a personalised certificate.
I feel I am able to sufficiently identify a range of cleaning products that will be able to decontaminate surfaces that may contain the COVID19 surface.
