This online course, created in collaboration with Clinical Services Journal, explains EN norms and their role in testing the performance of disinfectants and influencing product selection during the COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing.
There is a wide choice of disinfectant formulations available and it is essential to ensure the most appropriate disinfectants are selected and used correctly. This course, based on an article written by Dr Tim Sandle, Pharmaceutical Microbiologist, examines European Norms (EN) in relation to disinfectants. The importance of updates to these standards are considered and practical advice is provided on ensuring that accurate comparisons between different disinfectants can be easily made.
This course can be accessed at work or at home on a variety of smart devices.
On completion of this course trainees will:
1. Gain an understanding of key EN norms related to disinfectants.
2. Have an improved awareness of how EN norms should influence the identification of appropriate disinfectants for use in healthcare facilities.
3. Have a greater understanding of the different forms of testing involved in EN standards.
4. Feel more able to use EN norms to compare the performance of competing disinfectants.
Add members of your team to your course to track their progress. This course contains topics that cover:
