Viruses are known to survive on surfaces for an extended period of time and, based on our knowledge of influenza, can be transmitted via contact with contaminated surfaces. So, good knowledge of effective surface cleaning and disinfection in the healthcare environment is important. 

This course is based on an externally hosted article and can be accessed at work or at home on a variety of smart devices.

    1. Understand how to disinfect surfaces to help prevent the transmission of coronaviruses.

    2. Have awareness of the cross contamination risks in dental practices.

    3. Learn about the importance of the different EN tests relevant to surface disinfection and what to look for.

    4. Be aware of which types of cleaning and disinfection products are effective against coronaviruses. 

  • Course content

    Add members of your team to your course to track their progress. This course contains topics that cover:

    • What does disinfection consist of?

    • What to know before selecting a surface disinfectant

    • What is effective against coronaviruses?

    • Factors affecting the effectiveness of disinfectant wipes

    The course is accompanied by a multiple choice test to assess the trainee’s understanding of the content. When all module tests are completed the trainee will have access to a personalised certificate.
